  1. This was so entertaining but also speaks much truth. College exams are usually just made up of questions where you as a student just re-write everything the professor spoke about. There aren't enough exams or projects that allow the student to use the knowledge they learned and express it in their own terms. In my experience I have only been enrolled in about six classes in total that weren't test based and allowed students to create their own final projects. I learned more in those classes than i classes where you just learn things for the exams.

    1. Definitely agree with you, certain class don't really give student the freedom of self expression to enjoy more the class which causes us to not do so well in them because we are constrained to a certain criteria of learning.

  2. I honestly really enjoyed this video. Although I agree with a lot of what he spoke about if you look at it as a whole, everything we do learn I believe is useful in the long run. Although a lot of it is pointless there is a big majority that benefit you in reality. I do believe although that college exams or even exams in general do not test your intelligence but rather test you memory. I think what one learns in class should not be tested just because it is as if you are forcing the students to remember things and if they don't it affect their grade and their pockets. I believe one should learn and instead create their own way in showing what they have learned, and since it is us students who pay to learn we should want it the most. For those who aren't good at remembering should not be penalized. Overall, I had mixed feelings while watching this video but it was truly entertaining to watch.

    1. It is unfortunate that so much of what is involved in being a college student is memory. Because if you're a poor test taker or truly just have a bad memory, then you are at a disadvantage. A person could be so incredibly intelligent when it comes to mechanics or computers but if you were to ask them to take a cumulative final exam on say.. social psychology.. after taking the class, they would suffer. Therefore reflecting on their GPA.

  3. So far I have about 85 credits under my belt and if you were to ask me "What is something you've learned in college so far?" my mind would go in scrambles. Of course I have learned so much and considered myself smarter than I started, but realistically I do not think I learned something that I will take with me 10 years from now. Nothing that I will teach my children about. Does this mean college is pointless? Absolutely not. I feel that when I sit in one class for 4 months it seems so rushed and compacted. By the time December or May rolls around I spent more time trying to get an A then actually absorbing and learning the material. However I do feel that it all adds up in the end. There is a reason I am getting a degree and hopefully can take the sum of the entire experience with me.

    1. I agree with you. I also have about 85 credits done and sometimes I can barely remembered what I learned in the previous semester. It seems that everyone relies on memorization to get by and get an "A" in a specific class. Once the class is over most of us forget what we learned.

  4. I agree with what the video is saying. The guy speaks about learning Spanish and I can honestly say the same for French. I learned French in high school and studied the language for 4 years. About a year after taking French I forgot almost everything I knew. I could barely compose a sentence to date. I also agree on the fact that many students can be poor test takers. However, what they lack in that area can be made up for with homework, projects, and participation.
